Forum & FAQs
For an EcoSolarCool solar refrigerator or solar freezer, ALWAYS use a 15 amp 12/ 24 volt charge controller (or perhaps a 20 amp is some cases, but please verify this with us first) . Recommended brands include Victron Blue Solar and Morningstar. Please contact EcoSolarCool if you want to use any other brands for advice. Faults caused by not following EcoSolarCool installation instructions are likely to invalidate your warranty.
@EcoSolarCool Hello, we have just purchased a 15.9 cu ft refrigerator from you and would like to know if the Blue Solar 75/15 mppt charge controller is a good choice with this unit?
Hi. Thanks for posting on the forum. Yes, the Victron Blue Solar 75/15 MPPT is recommended. This charge controller will help regulate the current (amps) to the EcoSolarCool refrigerator to our specified 15 amps on a 12 volt battery bank system.
Always follow the cable guide instructions during installation. See image below.
Best practice for all DC systems is the higher the system voltage, the more energy efficient and less power will be consumed. Hence, whenever possible, we recommend our products are connected to a 24 volt battery bank system.
Interesting comments. I'm on grid
What is the voltage and amperage when using the 110v power adapter?
Voltage output would be 110v or 120v. The amperage would depend on the adapter you use. I have the ESCR355GE. I first bought an adapter from eBay. That adapter was a nightmare. So, I bought one from EcoSolarCool. It's been working now with no issues for more than a couple of years now. This one has an amperage output of 7.5 amps.
@Alex thank you!!
